Well I have held the floating thing to stop water coming in
How would you block it off? And end cap screwed into it rather than the floating thing( if that is the right word)0 -

So it's still filling?
As you haven't got a clue leave it to the plumber.0 -

Turn the tap off...
Normally something that looks like.
You can just turn it off then empty the tank.:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)
Loans cost 2.9% per year (Nationwide) = FREE money.

I have blocked it off by holding the floating thing up so it doesn't fill up
Re stop !!!! or tap, I can't find it
I have looked bloody every where
I was thinking Inget a redirect pipe to redirect it back to the gutter and the put and end cap on it but then I thought a plumber should really do it0 -

So if you've stopped it from filling by whatever means why don't you just empty it?:footie:Regular savers earn 6% interest (HSBC, First Direct, M&S)

This could end in a disaster !I used to be indecisive but now I am not sure.0

I have but just want the tank removed0

Has your boiler got a filling loop? If you can't see and top up the water pressure on your boiler then the tank in the loft is probably to maintain pressure of your central heating and shouldn't be removed.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0

What did the surveyor say about tanks in the loft when you had the survey done?0

Tbh I'm not sure you have a combi boiler at all, if your roof tank is still filling I'm not sure it's not in use, what boiler do you have & have you got a hot water cylinder in the airing cupboardI'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0
