Benefit fraud IUC second interview

A few months back I was called in for an IUC regarding HB IS. I had a few weeks prior closed all claims as my grandmother has had to sell her home and move in with us she gave me my inheritance early this gives me a chance to seek employment and I've had the support I'd been dying for .
I was initially told it was due to my ex 'never' leaving us, upon arrival I was then asked why I became a dog groomer which k am clearly not. I answered questions as honestly as possible some I didn't know like exs partners address etc they're not local. He had statements with him putting money in my account for clothes games trips etc and also a store card in his name that I kept use and pay for. At the end of the interview I was told the case would be passed onto a descion maker but I've now received a second interview.
This whole ordeal has made me mentally ill and I'm sure this is what they try to achieve my childrens dad has since spilt from his partner and been great with the kids but although things are improving for them seams my life is still upside down.
I'm confused as I've been expecting a letter from them not the investigator? I'm thinking perhaps I shouldn't go to the second interview I said all I needed to the first time round. Has any one experienced a second interview the investigator never mentioned this to me.

The fact that they want to interview you again shows that you have not satisfied them so you have not said all you need to. If you have nothing to hide you need to go to the interview and explain clearly what you think they have got wrong.
Not going is completely the wrong thing to do.0 -
I would imagine that something that you said at the first interview has been checked and they now have some more questions to ask you about it.
Did you give any explanations at the first IUC that they could have made further enquiries about and found to be untrue?
You said that you are not working as a dog groomer - what made them think that you were? Could they have contacted someone and got a witness statement saying that you were?
Under laws of this land (CPIA) they are required to follow all lines of enquiry to either prove or disprove the information that they have received. You have given an explanation to the questions at the first IUC - they have checked those explanations out and need to ask more questions0 -

1.IUC is a evidence gathering tactic in which YOU talking away is the basis on gathering evidence against you if suspect you have done something wrong.
2.A second one means they have no evidence thus far to base a decision on.
3.Attend it but you can state you have nothing further more to add to the first interview and you wish to seek legal advice (the interview will be terminated at this point) or you can remain silent as this is your right to do so.
4.Make sure you request a copy of the interview tape for future ref.0 -

If the claimant has done nothing wrong s/he can talk to Kingdom come without implicating herself in any way.0 -
Thanks for the responses all very helpful I don't qualify for legal aid and cannot afford it. It started with a malicious annon call that I was a dog groomer same time a neighbour moved out of my close.
I feel I answered all questions in my first IUC and now they're fishing for more evidence or to incriminate myself they are very clever at manipulating you making you say things you don't quite mean. As far as I was aware the evidence and first interview had been sent to the descion maker already he made it clear I was going to be prosecuted as they ha all the evidence they needed and now this other interview.0 -
This is my first thoughts, the investigator was very good at putting words in my mouth and although I know I have done nothing wrong they feel I am guilty amd that was apprent from the start of the interview. Stayed off being my best friend then turned very nasty.0

Both of these things can be easily proved.
1. Dog grooming thing - tell them to phone the local dog grooming shops and ask if you work there.
2. Gather evidence your ex lived elsewhere during this period. Rental agreement, council tax etc0 -

If you've done nothing wrong, it's pretty difficult to incriminate yourself, whatever they ask.0
