ESA backdated or not!?!

Hi everyone.

I received my decision letter yesterday saying that I had been put in the support group.

I went to my interview on the 8th week of my claim (which my what I've seen is exceptionally quick) but I notice that people get their money backdated to the 14th week of their claim.

Does that mean I won't get paid the support component until the 14th week or will it be backdated to when I had my assessment.

I'm majorly confused :(

D

You won't get the support group component until the 14th week of your claim. That's the quickest i've ever heard with an assessment. Relax now :)

    hello,

the first 13 weeks are the assement phase, so you get paid the assessement rate.

you need to reference, the date when you applied for the benefit (this is day 1) > then 14 weeks after, you should recieve the support rate.

if there is any less sum of money from week 13 > TO getting regular support benefit you should be recieving, you should get it backdated.

(i.e. this is probably only going to happen if they take 6+ weeks to update the computer to install your benefit (i.e. 8 weeks already, 6+ weeks bringing to week 14).

...you are not being hard done by etc, you just got seen really really quick!

    congrats / best wishes.

    regards,
