Name of tape to be applied were plaster board s cracking

Hi can some pleas give the name of the tape which need to be applied and the painted to avoid plaster board falling from the celing

Well plasterers use scrim tape but you have to apply it then plaster over the tape so bit of technique involved.0

I don't think scrim tape would stop it falling off ceiling, it just covers the joint before plastering as suggested above (post #2). Isn't plasterboard screwed to the joists before plastering.0

Sometimes it cracks through time where the boards meet especially if the boards aren't staggered when fitted also people nail them up as opposed to correctly using screws, a lot of reasons for cracks, overboarding, boards getting wet and sagging over time from an above bathroom etc. If the boards are really on the verge of falling then a rip out and re board and re skim by a pro is only real cure.0

I'm concerned by the description of the tape stopping it from falling from the ceiling! Nothing is going to stop gravity if the plaster is genuinely blown.Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.
