I just opened one this morning (before reading this thread properly) and the e-mail I just received says

"Earn monthly variable tiered credit interest on whole balances between £1 and £5,000 when you pay at least 2 different direct debits from your account each calendar month (rates are correct at the date of this letter):
    - £1 to £1,999.99 at 1.00% AER / 1.00% Gross
    - £2,000 to £3,999.99 at 2.00% AER / 1.98% Gross
    - £4,000 to £5,000 at 4.00% AER / 3.93% Gross * "

It'll be interesting to see what happens when the interest is paid. Can't decide whether to do one for my husband now or not.

How on earth do you all keep track of what is where ! despite a comprehensive spreadsheet I still keep forgetting where I am at:o.

Not sure you have read the thread properly - you're talking about a Club Lloyds current account, which hasn't been changed!

The interest rate change that the above posters are referring to is specifically on the Club Lloyds Monthly Saver savings account.
  • Hi James. That's the Club Lloyds current account rates. They haven't changed. It's the linked Club Llyods monthly Saver (save £25 to £400 per month) which has gone down from 4% to 3% for new accounts.

Argghhhh ! you see what I mean about being confused - that's the problem with having to think about this between 5&6 am (half asleep) and in 20 min intervals whilst DD is watching ben and holly !! - no consistent thoughts...... Thanks though.
  • No worries Jane ( sorry for misnaming you!). I actually quite enjoy managing all my current accounts (haven't counted them but must be about 9 now) and related monthly savers. I have a wee notebook to keep track of them all (nothing as sophisticated as a spreadsheet!). I also have a monthly schedule of dates of when to move money in (2nd of the month usually, except Santander which doesn't work on the calendar month) and when SOs are going out. I just work out my own system and keep it reviewed regularly. Good fun and quite straightforward if you're organised. I think it's worth the time for the return you get, others might not agree.
