International SNAD returns

We have had threads recently about returns costs for damaged or incorrect items shipped from overseas and thought I would post my own experience.
Having believed, according to some of the threads here, that ebay do not enforce return labels for overseas purchases I was nervous when 2 items from the same seller arrived damaged and seller was being difficult. In my case I couldn't prove the damage as it was something to do with the working of an item, as a similar example a music box that didn't actually play any music- so impossible to photograph. Seller refused a refund or return unless I proved the damage by providing evidence of the fault and began asking for careful videos sent to a different email address so their techs could investigate- which I refused to do. They then said they would accept the return as long as they had item back within 3 weeks and posted at my cost (item took 5 weeks to arrive and the two totalled less than £10).
In the end I decided to try an ebay case- opened a return stating that I had received damaged goods and specifically requesting a tracked pre paid return label. the case then stated that ebay would intervene on a later date and meanwhile had asked seller to provide a returns label. Seller then sent several messages asking me to close the case and promising me that if I returned items and sent them the postage receipt they would reimburse me. I kept the return open and seller just kept saying they couldn't do anything as the case would only close if they a) provided a label for me which they wouldn't do, or refunded in full. This morning I have had the two return cases closed with full refunds and a message from ebay saying I no longer have to return the items.
I have lost out a bit on the exchange rates , but overall a good result I think from a seller who expected to get away with shoddy goods and whose feedback, I note is beginning to slip .

The seller sounds Chinese / Far Eastern to me..
good news that you were refunded and a practical proof that peeps can insist on a tracked return label for an overseas purchase0 -
A little bump and a query..
Did you just ask for a prepaid tracked returns label in the message sent to the seller?
I have done that twice now, but it stays open for 8 days before i can ask for help. Is it worth phoning ebay before that time?
Dont want to hijact your thread but teh basics.
Chinese seller, Listing for metal tool, bought at a good price. items arrived and they are cheap crappy plastic. I have thoughts did i really buy these?
Checked ebay and the listing had changed to cheap crappy plastic ones, but the ones i bought were metal,. seller says sorry out of stock. why send crappy plastic and at the full price.. mental.
Its been a good few weeks now and seller has promised to refund, the first time they asked if i could post it to UK buyers, no problem IF you pay postage first. Then no refund or request to post them so i ask again for a refund just using contact seller other.
Now i have opened a case for SNAD and asked for a full refund, seller says please return and they will refund in full. Sent another saying please supply prepaid and tracked label.
Do i need to do anything else?
With these issues i really shouldnt have bought that expensive item where fedex delivered an empty box. that was box 1 of 2 where is box 2, in the USA?
Why did the driver deliver an obviously empty box and conceal the fact it was empty and not ask for a signature? And then deliver box 2 dent and ripped with holes taped over (poorly). But the seller put the price down as 75$ instead of a few hundred £. ouch..

The case still needs to be escalated in 8 days, ebay won't (shouldn't) do anything before then assuming you win the SNAD claim of course. My Chinese seller held out right to the last minute and kept telling me I should return item, close case and wait for my refund. I ignored them, made sure I had asked for a return label clearly in dispute and made sure I had stated it would be returned once I had the label. About 7 days in they just refunded in full and told me to throw item away.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. They have now replied to my second message asking if i could send to another UK buyer.
Been there several weeks ago when they promised to refund, i think its just reply please supply a prepaid tracked returns label.
I messaged them first on the 28th June so getting on for 30 days and still no refund.
What do you think, broken record.. please supply pre-paid and tracked returns label?Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0 -

I do find the Far East seller particularly use a broken record style to beat buyers down sometimes. They must use a stock email, as I have had the same from various sellers (and to be honest if I dealt mainly with a foreign speaking country I would use stock cut and paste translations to!). I just held my nerve and if I did respond (and I stopped adding to the dispute console after a while and never ever responded to email messages) just reiterated that once I had a returns label through the dispute console I would be happy to return.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the eBay, Auctions, Car Boot & Jumble Sales, Boost Your Income, Praise, Vents & Warnings, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning , UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards. Yeah, i was happy to send the items to other buyers if they paid the postage, but they promised a refund 4 weeks ago, i didnt realise it had been that long.
I chased them a week or so back and they just said they will refund. But didnt.
I think i will just reply, i agreed to that 4 weeks ago but you failed to refund and i now require a pre-paid and tracked returns label.Censorship Reigns Supreme in Troll City...0
