Child savings

Hi there, my 6 year old daughter has just been paid a lump sum of money (in excess of 30k) from an insurance policy following the death of her father. She already has a child trust fund which I pay into each month but I wish to invest this for her separately and get the best long term return possible. There are no restrictions in terms of a will etc . Can anyone advise of the best place to invest this on her behalf? Many thanks in advance

You will act as bare trustee for your daughter and she will have the absolute right to access and control at the age of 18.
You need to consider whether you will use cash deposits or stock market based investments or a mixture of the two.
Something like this http://www.sit.co.uk/private-investors/products/stockplan-a-flying-start
might suit. Check FAQ above investing for children.
For any cash element , this might suit.
