    But you said it wasn't the developer's wall either (HA) and depending on whether you are freehold or leasehold, it might still be their decision anyway.

    If it was already there, it will have been drawn as such on the plans, doesn't mean that's what they would have done if there had been fresh air there.

    I'd be happy that they were replacing an unsound structure myself....

    You cannot insist that a wall that does not belong to you is replaced by another wall. If you want a wall there you can build one on your land inside whatever the housing association decides to put there instead. You cannot dictate to owners of walls what you want them to replace their walls with.
