Housing benefit deductions confusing?

How do non dependant deductions work for Housing Benefit?

I am confused about my housing application. I have a partner who wants to move into my private rented flat but unsure whether I am subject to weekly deductions for hb.

I receive PIP standard care so does that mean if a partner moves in I am exempt from any deductions to my benefit or does this only apply if a Non dependant moved in with me I.e. a friend or family member???

If your partner moves in with you then you will have to notify the council and any benefits you are claiming (but not PIP as it is not means tested) and you will be assessed as a couple.

If you tell us what you are claiming and what your partner does (work? - hrs? - benefits) we may be able to help further.

A partner is not a non dependent.

Thanks but according to the gov website
It states a partner is NOT regarded as a non dependant. But it goes on to state that non dependants do not affect your housing benefit whether working or not IF you are in receipt of AA or DLA/PIP.
But is this the same as a partner moving in aswell?
