in Credit cards
My credit card is rarely used and has zero balance, but I'm about to use it for a £4k item, just to get the extra insurance if things go wrong. However, the retailer has informed me there is a fee of 2.5% for using my card, and this amounts to an extra £100 on the bill, which seems extortionate to me. Is there any way to mitigate this charge?

Ask the retailer to charge you a fiver on the credit card and pay the rest another way. You'll still get S75 protection.0
