Hi everyone,

We are still in sunny Yorkshire - sorry to sound smug but we have had a really good week.

We went to visit sis-in-law on Wednesday. She was visiting mutual friends in Wales so we went there. We had a large gazebo for the friends, which we bought for DD's wedding in case it rained. We never used it so we gave it to the friends who open their garden for charity every year. Hopefully it will ensure they have good weather and never need it.

Yesterday we went for a lovely shortish walk and ended at a very pleasant tearoom in Hebden near Grassington.

I'm trying to persuade DH to go home tonight, I'd like to see DS and fiancee this weekend and also maybe DD who has been suffering with her neck again this weekend. Hopefully she has a handle on it now and it won't be as bad as before.

Have a good day.

Morning :hello:

Mr tru rang 101 last night, a bloke was watching him while Scampi was off lead then came over, mr tru put the lead back on and the bloke started asking questions about Scampi. He told him he was asking too many questions and no, you can't stroke him. Bloke wandered off to the other field over the main road where there was an agility class on and hung around there. Can't find any info on who runs the club so couldn't warn them. Woman on the phone said it sounds very suspicious and if he's after a bait dog, he'll be hanging around for days, so be careful. And if bloke was brave enough to approach mr tru (6' 2” and 17 stone) then he'll have no problem approaching me so I'll be avoiding alleys and sticking to the roads where I usually see a lot of local people. And the lead is staying firmly on. We've been up and down our road telling people we know who've got dogs.

Mr tru put a warning on FB about the bloke, it's been shared all over the place, a woman said she ran an agility club and the police had contacted her about it (it wasn't her club near us). So they must be contacting all agility trainers in the area, which is fab. Someone commented that they'd been approached a while ago by someone matching the description of the bloke. He was asked a lot of questions too and bloke wanted to stroke his dog. I wonder if the stroking is to get a look at the tag, to get dog's name, address? I've read that they learn the dog's name so they can call it over when off-lead, and they keep bits of bacon, etc. in their pockets to lure the dog once they've got it's attention. Scampi's tag doesn't have his name, it has our surname and phone number, no address.

csarina By the time you'd posted yesterday, the shelves were already soaking in washing powder, rubber gloves and Spontex were at the ready, next to the sink :D The oven is sparkling, looks like new again and I don't want to use it and undo my hard work, lol.

I'm on a bit of a mission this morning. In the surrounding streets there's people I only know well enough to say hello to (as I walk past praying that Scampi doesn't kick off!) but I know they have dogs so I'm going to knock on a few doors and warn them about the bloke. When I get back I'm going to put some washing on, do a bit of gardening then steam mop the hall and kitchen. Crochet later.

Morning all,

We arrived back from Cyprus at 2am and I'm just now getting ready to go into work for a few hours - urghhh. DH and the children are still in bed lucky things.

nmlc - glad the funeral went ok - I too have zero tolerance for toxic people. It's very difficult if they are family members though xxx
Hester - I think you must've been speaking to my aunt Sylvie at Crick. Mum normally shares the pitch with her but was obviously unable to this year.
Speky - so sorry to hear about your Gran - sending hugs xx

Sorry if I've missed anyone's news - it was hard to keep up whilst being away.

One suitcase of washing to do today - will leave it for DH. Another suitcase of dry cleaning wedding attire to sort through, and one suitcase of clean dry stuff to put away - I took full advantage of the villas WM and sunshine before I left

Not much planned for the weekend, but we do need food, so will visit the SM later today.
Have a good day all,
Coxy

Morning everyone,

HH surely there are rules about how much one person can be asked to lift, your poor OH.
Ancient That nightmare sounds terrible, a bit like an episode of Game of Thrones!
Tru That sounds worrying. As for the chickens, we are still on a "fox route". i see foxes most mornings walking through our garden so unfortunately no more chickens for us.

Last day of the half term here. I am off for a walk with a friend in an hour and then visiting the SM.
Apart from that I plan to potter and listen to Radio 4!

Have a lovely day everyone.:)

Hello everyone, I hope you are ok.
Just a quick post to say Hello as I haven't posted for a few days.
It's Sunny bright and dry here in Birmingham today. I will be at the park later with DS and a book. We went yesterday and he had a lovely
time, so is keen to return.
It's been a horrid few days. Sadly, someone close to me has had a miscarriage. Baby is there but no heartbeat, so dear person has to wait to see if nature takes a natural course or go into hospital or have medication. Horrid time for them. :(
Housework and cooking is being done as and when I can. I may do a small barbecue later as I have some charcoal left. I have stalled in my de cluttering but will resume as soon as I can as I love the feeling of clearing the chaos.

I hope everyone has a good day. Hugs to those struggling.

• Afternoon ((((((((((hugs)))))))))) if you need one.

Wonders will never cease, its starting to brighten up, still perishing though.

Fridat clean done, I also did some weeding in the garden for about half an hour, had to give up, back and legs giving me gyp. Will have another bash when OH gets up.

I got some elderflower yesterday, our neighbour was going into Melton so got her to get me 2 lemons and granulated sugar, will be making some cordial over the weekend. Need to strerilise the bucket and bottles.

Fish for supper tonight as usual, mash, veg and mustard sauce. I got bananas yesterday so something banana for dessert.

Evening everyone.

It's been such a fabulous day here again! It's hard to believe that the sun can shine so much on the west coast of Scotland, this time last year we had such rubbish weather.

I did my invigilation session this morning, came home to find Mum already in the back garden (sun hat on, sunscreen on and anti-midge stuff on) reading. We sat out until about midday when I thought it best to come in. It would have been so easy to just sit...but I took Mum to Skipness, past the Arran ferry terminal, for some seafood. We sat outside whilst she feasted on king scallops and I nibbled on an egg salad (don't eat fish) and enjoyed the sunshine. Happily there were at least three other German nationals there so she chatted away for a while in German which pleased everyone.

Once home we sat out in the back until the sun disappeared behind the wall and then went out to the front, along with glasses of wine. We've just come in - my arms are very brown already.

It's been lovely to give Mum a good time. Tomorrow is the 34th birthday of the nephew /grandson /godson who died recently in Melbourne so we shall toast him and his spirit.

Speky - thanks for the info about an alternative - not tried the T cut yet.

Tru - well done on spreading the word. This chappy sounds seriously dodgy.

Elaine - sorry to hear about your friend, it's always a sad time.

I really hope that everyone has had a great day.

Evening all,

i thought i'd better update you. I am well, things are ok but i know some of you have been wondering where ive got to.

Like i said, all is well ive just taken a break from MSE for a time.

Hubby has taken some time off work and we are going away for awhile. We havent been getting on well for months and working away since last November hasnt helped matters so we are using this time to get used to being together again. He has finished today and will take off as much time as is necessary. We were going to do this in March/April but Mom dying put paid to that as i needed to be at home.

Not sure when i'll be back but dont worry i'll be fine.

Have a good evening all.

Speky, so sorry to hear about your Gran.

Best wishes to you Judi and you OH hope you get things sorted, perhaps a bit of time will help the both of you.

had a lovely time today DGS Henry had his birthday and we all went to the cinema (his choice of treat) and we saw X Men Apocalypse, not normally a film I would choose but it was actually not too bad at all.lots of special effects and bangs and crashes which went down very well with both Henry,Mikey and their Dad (even DD and I enjoyed it)then he had a choice of dinner and he plumped for a take-away pizza from Hungry Horse. The boys all get to choose what they want for their birthday meal,I had a chilli and rice as i'm not over keen on pizza.Henry was keen to show me all the things his new all-singing ,dancing phone can do and he is so thrilled with it plus he got a decent amount of birthday cash which he gave me £75.00 of to pay into his bank account (he's definitely a chip of my block :):):))He has bought himself a new jacket and Nike bag for school and the rest he is saving until he sees something he really wants
I had a nice payment today EDF have sent me a payment of £110 that was overpaid during the year so tomorrow I am going with my son-in-law to treat myself to a new TV as my one is on its last legs as the colour is going and everyone looks a pleasant shade of crimson at the moment. It is almost 20 years old and was third-hand when it was given to me 9 years ago so it doesn't owe me anything.

Son-in-law and I are going to have a mooch around and see whats going.
Right I am off to watch my Tivo box and watch a red shaded Corrie on catch-up :)
Night all
