RBS were the first creditors to accept my token payment of £1.00 and freeze interest. RBS were one of the banks who agreed the forms that the CAB use about accepting reduced payments etc. I think it has a lot do with who you speak to etc. as I can tell by reading here all the banks are the same!

Hi
this happened to me, like you I was pulling my hair out. They (HSBC) continued to call even up to 930pm!!!
I signed up to BT Choose to REFUSE. the first month was free and I think it's about £3 a month. They can set it up immediately. When the bank calls, hang up, tap in the number BT give you, it will ask if you wish to bar calls from the last number or to enter a number and bobs you uncle they can't call you anymore...tee hee!!:D
if they call on another number do they same again you can block up to 10 numbers. It works on unavailable numbers and any call centres who ring..
you should finally get some peace and you can keep in contact with them by post..Everything always works out in the end :beer:0 -
Thanks debstar, I did have choose to refuse when I first started the DMP, but I could not keep up with the different numbers that called, so I removed it. Now that the DMP has settled down a bit maybe I could sign up for it again as HELIFAX are the only one,s that phone now.0

Hi just an update, Helifax  replied to the letter I sent about stopping the calls. What they said is, halifax have taken immediate action to suspend this activity from todays date and for an initial period of three weeks all collection activity will stop. they have then asked for my hubby to call them and if they dont hear from him at the end of the three week period they will need to make contact again to maintain a regular dialogue.
