Address For Helifax!!!

Hi I am on a DMP with CCCs and have been since April 2007. We have a CC, OD and LOAN with the Halifax. They have excepted the DMP for twelve months on the CC and OD, but not on the loan.
My hubby works long hours and is out of the house upto 14hrs a day. The Halifax are calling 8 times a day, I cant deal with them as the loan is in my hubbys name only. I keep explaining this to them but they still keep calling.
I have now got a letter off this site, asking them to contact hubby by wrtting only. I dont know what address to sent it to. CAN ANYONE HELP WITH AN ADDRESS?????????

THANKS for reading this.

  • If you can't find the address on the letters you've already had from them regarding the loan, try Halifax, Customer Relations, PO Box 548, Leeds LS1 1WU

We have not had any letters from them regarding the loan since we have been on the DMP. We have a loan agreement but that address is our local branch. I will try the address you have given THANKS.
  • Good luck!

I've always got a helpful response from HBOS,Trinity Road,Halifax,HX1 2RG - it's their customer care / retail banking address and everything comes from there on my dmp.

Hi, I am in a similair situation to you in the sense that the Halifax are my main creditor and I have a the Credit Card, OD, and Loan. My accounts have now been passed on to the debt collectors and they are so much easier to deal with than the Halifax directly.

I come to agreementsa with both the CC, and OD collection terams but the loan department are complete ar**holes to the extent a women told me they would keep calling until I paid up. Well that was the final straw and I made an official complaint to them in writing and told them that if they didnt respongd in 14 working days I would be passing the complaint to the OFT and Trading Standards. This had the desired effect although they werent happy about it!

Just to check are you still making token payments to the loan account even though they rejected the offer? If so this will go in your favour.

Have you sent the standard letter requesting that all correspondence is now sent by mail only? If not fill it in and send recorded delivery ASAP. I will post it below. They are not allowed to call even though the monkeys they have in the call centre seem to think they have the god given right not only to call but be abusive.

Also have you informed the CCCS of the tactics they are using? They may be able to advise you on this but I still think sending the letter would be a good start

I wish you the best of luck

    "Dear

I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding the telephone calls that I have received from your company.

I am now formally requesting that all further correspondence be made in writing only.

I demand that these phone calls stop immediately. I am familiar with the terms of Section 40 of the Administration of Justice Act 1970, and the Protection from Harassment Act 1970 and I believe your harassment places you in breach of these acts.

If you continue to call, you will also be in breach of the Wireless Telegraphy Act (1949) and, as such, I will report you to both Trading Standards and The Office of Fair Trading.

Take further note that continued telephone calls after the receipt of a request not to call may constitute a criminal offence under Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003.

You will be deemed to have been served notice of my request and I will deem it served by (FULL DATE), I am advising you that any calls received after this date will be recorded with the intention of them being used as evidence.

    Yours faithfully,"

CROWN Yes the payments are still being paid to them. I have not informed CCCs about this as I did not think they could help me with this. Halifax also told me that they would continue to ring until my hubby called them. Thanks for the letter, thats the one I have printed off ready to send, will send it recorded delivery. Can you tell me which address you have used with them?

You will need to be persistant with them - Halifax & RBS both initially declined my offers and said they wouldnt budge - I kept paying what I offered and after a month they both agreed reduced payments/freeze interest etc - I did it all by registered post - no telephone conversations.

Thanks leixlip, as I said after 3 months they did except my DMP payments on the CC and OD. 6 months on and they are not budging on the loan, I will just keep making the payments and live in hope. The other creditor I have a problem with is CITI. No phone calls but they just keep adding interest and late payment charges which is treble the payment I'm making too them.

There seems to be no logic with Citi - they were the first to agree my reduced payments & freeze interest and said it was strictly for 6 months only and wouldnt negotiate beyond that. The 6 months ended in August and they just simply wrote to me and renewed the repayment arrangement without me having to ask/plead with them. The letter came from Paul Campbell, Head of Collections if that helps.
