We have gone from 2 cars to 1, it is registered in my name and my husband as a named driver.
I have fully comp. insurance but my husband let his lapse after selling his car.
I understand he, as a named driver has the same cover as me.
However, he actually drives it more than me, especially on long motorway journeys,

Would it make any sense alternating buying insurance so he could keep 'in the loop' so to speak.

Also if he decided to drive my daughters car, very rarely, would he be covered by his named driver insurance from my car? I realise if this was possible it would only be 3rd party cover.

Yes that will keep both sets of NCD alive

A named driver doesn't get any driving other cars (third party) cover

Assuming he has a good record he could go on his daughters policy as a named driver for her car at small cost (possibly no cost)
