Debit Card payments gone one day back the next

Its gone now. I knew it would in the end, I think my point really is that banks promote debit cards as the business, payments instantly gone from your account so you always know where you are and so on but it doesn't always work like that and I think its wrong.0

I have never seen a bank promote debit cards as instant payments. The system is not geared for that. You have assumed instant and that has been the problem.
You and only you have a responsibility to maintain your account. Transactions can take days or weeks but it isnt difficult to keep track of where you are with available funds.
The bank has done nothing wrong, the retailer has done nothing wrong. The system has worked as it should.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA).
