Estate agent: successful lender valuation survey mean renegotiation is not possible

    When we bought our home 14 years ago, the lender valued it the same as our offer price but our surveyor valued it £6000 under our offer price. We did not renegotiate because we were aware of some of the problems when we offered and felt the seller would put it back on the market if we tried.

    So - no, if I was selling, I would not be keen to renegotiate.

    They're not saying that at all. Post No. 1 states that the survey the OP commissioned did not include a valuation. And post no. 12 states the surveyor advised them over the phone to renegotiate the price.

    The only valuation was one provided by the bank, which unlikely to have spotted some of the defects.

    You'll note I said the surveyors, plural.
