Laparoscopy and dye/hysteroscopy

Hi,
Usually post on ttc 12months+ but posting here desperately for traffic!
I am due to have my Lap and dye on Monday... it is possible I will be either on day 1 or 2 of period.
I went to my pre op today to find out that I should have been given a leaflet to explain that if this was the case, I should have been given hormone meds to delay my period as really shouldn't be on. Rang my consultant's secretary who said I would have got the leaflet when last saw consultant (I didn't :( ) but I would have to just turn up and see if it was ok on day.
Has anyone been in this boat? Please can you tell me what happened? Already anxious enough without this :(
Thanks so much!
Ellesbelles

I've had many (many!) laps, and a hycosy (which is an ultrasound version of the dye - kind of), but not at the same time. The hycosy had to be done within the first week or so of a cycle and I was definitely on my period for that one. The laps have been done at various cycle points as far as I can remember.

None of which is much help :rotfl:.

Does seem a bit rubbish that they can't give you a yes or no now though - surely they know whether they do them when you're on or not?

Thanks Tea - the secretary said if it's light it should be fine but couldn't say for sure :( My periods are so erratic I can't ever plan around them!

I had the same when I had mine, I was willing it to finish but was still lightly on on the day but they were fine with it (they did give me some classy pants though, the things we have to do in ttc...)

Hope it goes ok and you get the answers you need. Don't stress too much about it, it is not as bad as it sounds and everyone has to look after you afterwards! X
