The FreeStyle Libre reader (meter) displays the glucose data collected by the sensor which automatically measures and continuously stores glucose readings day and night.

Scanning your sensor shows the current glucose reading, the latest 8 hours of glucose data and a trend arrow showing if glucose levels are going up, down or changing slowly.

The sensor is 5 mm in height and 35 mm in diameter.

The sensor is also water-resistant in up to 1 metre (3 feet) of water for a maximum of 30 minutes. The reader captures data from the sensor when it is within 1cm-4cm of the sensor.

In addition, to get a complete glycemic picture for the last 3 months, the sensor must be replaced every 14 days and the sensor must be scanned at least once every 8 hours.

the sensors are really expensive though about £60 for a pack

Yeah, the NHS is unlikely to fund repeat prescriptions for this! CGMs are not a common thing in the UK quite yet.
