Was there an accurate inventory taken when you moved in?
Deposit protected?Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -
Rented through Belvoir a couple of years ago. There was never a check in inventory. On check out they/LL tried to pretty much claim our entire deposit for things that had already been in a bad state when we arrived. Just sent Belvoir a letter telling them to talk to the LL as I knew they had no legal leg to stand on and would dispute all deductions on that basis. 2 days later the full deposit was back on my account. Found them to be an ok agency, but chancers when it comes to deposit claims.
Also, did they provide you with all mandatory information regarding your protected deposit. In our case they only had a section about this in our contract, which was missing some mandatory points, I used this as leverage to get the full deposit back, casually mentioning I knew it didn't comply and that I had legal cover with my contents insurance...0
