Thinking of visiting here next week. Can you take your own food in, as in a picnic?
Any other advice appreciated.

  • Yes you can, I would recommend it as its very expensive to eat there. There are picnic areas.

Yes you can. Plenty of places to sit (benches, walls, lawns, little bit of woodland,) and also there is a reasonably priced cafe in there too. Me and my daughter had a cappucino each and a cake each for seven quid in total.

It's a bit more expensive for full meals though, so yes, take a picnic/sandwiches/cereal bars/crisps/a bottle of squash etc. And maybe several bottles of mineral water. If it's a warm day, you'll get thirsty.

It's a great place to visit. Lots of people walking around in Victorian gear, a Victorian bank, Victorian shops and stores (all open!) Take your camera!

Oh, and the last time I went, there was an outside loo like this. (my nan had one of them in her old Victorian house!)

Hope you and your family enjoy yourselves. :)
Proud to have lost over 3 stone (45 pounds,) in the past year! :j Now a size 14!

Thanks folks, I will definitely take some food. Seems like everything is Victorian except the prices eh?

The cakes are fresh made & just so delicious I could munch my way into happy bankruptcy & the loos are pretty clean if not this-week-modern.
If the weather is kind, I think you'll have a brilliant day (but gods yes do please take all the water you can lug.)
