Speeding on the Wessex Way, Bournemouth

Hi all,
A few weeks ago, I visited Bournemouth for few days during the 1st bank holiday during May. On the Tuesday after the bank holiday, I noticed a speeding camera flashed me. I was doing 50mph rather than the 40mph speed limit. My mistake as I readily admit. I will say though that the speed limit on the Wessex Way, Bournemouth, was 50mph when I last used it.
I have a clean driving license for over 34 years.
My queries are :
1. Does anyone know whether the Wessex Way speed cameras are genuine speed cameras and actually capture driver details. I have done a google search but I cannot find any evidence that anyone has been fined recently.
2. I assume that rather than getting points on my license, I will be offered the chance to attend a speed awareness training course ?
I know that I can wait to see whether I get a NIK. I think that they have to give this to me within 2 weeks after my speeding offence; could someone please confirm ?

They have 14 days to serve the first NIP of the registered keeper.0

50 in a 40, you'll almost certainly be in line for an SAC.
A quick google suggests that Dorset might not be part of the national scheme, so the course offered might only be available to be taken within Dorset - but that was a few years ago, so things might have changed.0 -
Depends where you were on Wessex Way. At that time there would have been average speed cameras on the A338 into/out of Bournemouth in the road works (40mph), but they wouldn't flash.
From the end of the contra-flow as you entered it would have gone to NSL briefly, then 50mph (past 2 cameras), then 40mph from the first roundabout (St Pauls) you come to (without leaving the A338). There is a camera just after the roundabout in the 40mph section. EDIT, actually there is a second 40mph camera after the second roundabout (Bournemouth West) on the approach to County Gates and the LV building.
Coming back out the equivalent 40mph camera isn't active but there is sometimes a van sited more or less at the same point, then 2 more cameras in the 50mph section.
EDIT: As far as I know all are real cameras - I have certainly seen maintenance vehicles at a number of them.0 -
Hi,
I have got the NIP but it does not mention a SAC. Does that happen after I respond to the NIP ?
Thanks0 -

That depends on your response.
Assuming you name yourself, then that's when you may get the offer.0 -

And are the dates ok if you're the registered keeper? It's been a while coming.0 -
As above ... it seems like a lot more than 14 days since the date of the incident.
What date of offence is mentioned on the NIP?
Are your details up to date with DVLA for this vehicle?
Have you moved address since the date of the offence and now receiving the NIP?
Pepioo might be the best place for advice on this issue.0 -

And are you the registered keeper? If it is a lease car or likewise the 14 days only applies to the keeper details.0 -

Where did you get this from?0
