I stand by my explanation, which Miss S also explained.
The LL could if he wished go to court before the tenancy ended to apply for an access order (forcing you to allow viewings or be in Contemp of Court). Whether he would do this is a different question.
And/or he could sue for compensation after the tenancy ended if he could show a loss resulting from your denial of access.0 -
So you agreed to a periodically tenancy when you could have gone for a 6 months tenancy giving you more time but of course, you wouldn't have wanted to do this in case you could have moved to your house sooner.
You could have agreed to allow viewing, but you didn't. You think your landlord owe you sympathy for your situation, but don't feel that this should be reciprocated. You don't know why they need to sale, and maybe, their situation is such that they need to do this as soon as possible. You being difficult with viewings means that this might delay the process and possibly caused them financial hardship, but that would be ok as long as it doesn't interfere with your plans to be able to move into your new home in perfect timing to the end of your tenancy.
They seem to have so far followed all the rules, so can't see why you are having it against them. It clearly doesn't suit your plans, but that's not her problems any longer when you have and continue to want to make things difficult for them.0 -
