Bank Transfer Santander to HSBC?

Hi,

Does anybody know how long it takes to transfer money from Santander to HSBC? I know it was said to take about three days years ago, was wondering if it still did?

When I get paid I need to transfer money to someone and hope it wouldn't take too long to get to them.

Also is there fees involved in this and if so how much please? I've done a transfer from my Santander to another persons Santander but haven't done it to another bank before.

Should be free and (normally) instant as a faster payment unless it's for a particularly large amount. Having said that, the banks legally have until the end of the next working day..

Thank you for your reply, I'm hoping it's free as don't have much and want this person to have it all as they need it more right now, about £100 and it will be good if it's only next day. Thank you.

Faster payments will normally go through In a couple of hours.

All personal bank accounts are free to transfer money using Faster Payment, It's usually within 2 hours but is almost instant most of the times, There is regulation that says payments must be credited within the next working day at a maximum.
