Parking eye and Equita

2 months ago i parked in a medical practice car park and didnt register my car inside as i was not told or advised to( and was ill at the time). I received a first letter from parking eye addressed to my dad as the main owner of the car for £60. At the time i was advised to not pay it by friends. I then recieved a follow up letter to tell me the charges are now £100. Now 2 months later Equita have sent me an email saying the fine is £160. As i have left it and am innocent of charges i dont kno who to contact as its voice automated. i have tryed to send an email to parking eye to appeal and admit i was the driver but dont know what they will say as it is outwith the 14 days. Will this effect my dads credit rating? any help would be good as im not sure who to contact and dont want to both the practice.

His credit rating can only be affected if he ends up with a CCJ and does not clear it within a month. So he needn't worry on that score.
Read the newbies faq thread and you will see it is not a good idea to admit you are the driver, as well as learn what to do about this.
Do go and see the practice manager and complain about this, and ask them to get the ticket cancelled.
(It isn't a "fine")0 -
First off, where are you, you've got a very Scottish first name?0

Thank you
so basically the one thing you dont do is tell them who's driving....oops... so the quickest route is to see if the practice can do anything.0 -

If so, then vent your wrath at the Practice Manager who was Cheryl Palmer last time I checked. Where ever it is, any Medical Practice should be ashamed of this rip-off in an NHS car park, which breaches clear Government Policy by alowing a private firm to make their money from 'fining' patients. Not allowed/acceptable since 2014 but so many NHS Trusts don't give a stuff.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Yes go to the practice manager and tell him/her as you said ..
"didnt register my car inside as i was not told or advised to( and was ill at the time)."
Parking Eye are not part of the human race so they will not understand what being ill is all about, they attack hospital car parks as well. Infact anywhere where they see ££££ flutter in front of their greedy little eyes.
Equita are just as bad but they are just debt collectors and although they dream up some amazing threats it will be parking eye who could proceed.
The Practice Manager should cancel the ticket as you must make them aware that they employ cowboys
In future you must avoid any car park that employs parking eye and that includes supermarkets. Tell all your friends and warn them about parking eye, supermarkets in particular lose business because of parking eye0 -
equita is a member of the same group of companies as PE
why are they going down this route , instead of the usual letter before claim and then court?
the OP has been asked twice for their location ,
I suggest that there is a flaw in PE s paperwork or CC is not applicable in this caseSave a Rachael

We did notice in 2015 that quite a lot of NHS ones never result in a claim. I suspect that PE are loathe to lose the big contracts with the NHS Hospitals, etc., and are fully aware that their modus operandi breaches the Government Guidance on NHS car parks. So I think to an extent they fly under the radar a bit with a more softly softly approach (in their book, Equita letters being softer than court).
I reckon they are trying to rake in the money whilst avoiding complaints mounting up to NHS trusts, until the Government finally stops this gravy train properly (if they do). Hospital car park charges have attracted the worst publicity and were something the Government pledged to consider as part of the proposed changes later this year...if it ever happens.
So, all OPs should COMPLAIN to the NHS Trusts or Medical Practices and get these cancelled; it is important to complain and alert the Management to the rip-off and the Government Guidance that is already being breached.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
