Low credit score and how to improve

I don't usually post on forums but i feel i'm in a difficult situation.
In August 2015 i changed my phone supplier from O2 to Vodafone through a third party website (mobile phones direct). I paid my first month subscription to Vodafone and within the first 14 days i encountered 1 week without signal and no indication of it coming back on before the 14 day cooling off period.
As a result i decided to invoke my statutory rights and cancel my agreement on the 13th day of the phone contract being signed which was all fine and Vodafone accepted this and i have written correspondence with them confirming this.
Since then i have had issues with my credit score with my agreement with Vodafone showing as having late payments for 3 months and still showing as open. I have added notices of corrections with Equifax, Callcredit, Experian and Noodle.
However, my credit score has dropped into poor because of this and i have been declined credit a few times on the simplest of things. Such as an Argos card.
If possible i would appreciate any advice on how i can improve my credit score and get it back into a healthy position as i am conscious of it having an adverse effect on my wanting to get a mortgage later this year or next!

Ignore the score. It doesn't mean anything. No one will ever see it apart from you.
Manage your credit responsibly and time will do the rest.0 -
