Declined for aqua card

Hey,
I applied for an aqua card last night and was declined. Bit miffed as i don't have any CCJ's in the last 24 months, hadn't applied for credit in years i've been working to improve my credit and was hoping to use this card to show that i'm now being more responsible, but thems the breaks..
How long would you recommend waiting before applying again? I've heard people who have applied for aqua and been declined have been accepted for capital one cards so thought i'd try for that instead.
Thanks!

Leave it 6 months before reapplying to aqua.
Try Vanquis in the meantime. They tend to have lower acceptance criteria.0 -
I was turned down for Aqua, but accepted for Capital One, Barclaycard and Vanquis.0

I think Aqua now trying to make their lending criteria more hard, I have seen some people on here who claimed that they were refused after taking a kind of survey at the end of the application. before, aqua will accept people even with late payment marker and default. leave it for like 6months and try againAqua Advance £ 9500 ( Settled ) | BC Platinum Card 25/25 £10500 | 24 studio £1950 | SimplyBe £1800 | Nationwide Flexplus A/C OD £800| Meaningless Noddles score= 3/50

I've just been declined for aqua despite not having any CCJs and my latest defaults being over 5 years old - I have a Vanquis card so will be soldier on with that for a few more months0
