Trying to save for a morgage, best ideas?

Hi guys

We are trying to save for a morgage for a house as currently renting a flat and want a house.

We both have opened a mat west Isa which is the govourment one and we put £200 each into our isa so we are currently saving £400(£500 if can use govourment)

Started this month shopping at Aldi and worked out we normally use £160 for shopping but with Aldi we could prob use £60 of that money and put into our joint saving account and add about £20 each.

I am guessing this joint saving is good idea to save money for other stuff like fees and new washer, cooker etc?

I am after other little ways to possibly save? Also if anyone knows of jobs that can be done in extra time out or at home possibly a Saturday?

Thanks
