cant cancel barclaycard account

Ninth Anniversary Combo Breaker
in Credit cards
I have written a few times to barclaycard to cancel my credit card but they just ignore my letters and send me a new card plus deals. I want to cancel it. Is there a way I can cancel

    Ask them to cancel the account (as per the thread title), not the card?
