PCN out private land outside my flat

Hi,
I have looked over existing threads to see if I could find similar ones but can't. Sorry if there are.
I forgot to display my permit outside my flat a few months ago (first time since I moved in about 9 months).
I contacted the company and informed them of this and sent a picture of my permit. They refused to cancel the charge.
I then went through the appeal and explained everything to them. Again, they refused to cancel the charge.
I then received a demand letter from the parking company for £100. Refusal to pay will result in further action. I binned this letter.
Earlier this week I received a letter from Gladstone solicitors.
The letter is stating they have been instructed to commence legal action against you to recover the amount due (£150) as I haven't settled the debt or provide a failed reason for not paying.
The whole reason I am not paying and think this is a cheek is because I'm parking OUTSIDE MY OWN FLAT.
I've spoken to my landlord who pays a yearly fee for my parking space and he has also spoken to the parking company who don't seem to care.
Has anyone got any advise on where I stand??
Many thanks.

I can't understand why you say you can't find a similar thread. Hood grief, this forum is riddled with people being ticketed for parking on "their land" and also solicitors chasing them.
Please search again to get loads of advice already available whilst waiting for replies on this thread.0 -
yes there are many cases like this.
Who is the parking company ?
Which appeal service did you go through <<< important
If your landlord knows you have a permit, so what if the idiot parking bod could not see it.
Gladstones is run by Laurel and Hardy so no big deal.
Name of parking company please and do they have pictures0 -
hi, thanks for the reply.
I can only find people being ticketed in supermarkets not outside of their own flat.
The parking company is called ACE Security Services (they are IPC accredited) and I went through the Independent Appeals Services (IAS).
When you say do they have pictures, do you mean of my car not showing the permit? it so, they haven't sent me anything.
Thanks for your help0 -
I have just fallen victim to the same scam.
An electrician working outside my flat was issued with a £100 parking charge.
However, he came on a Saturday morning when the concierge office for the block of flats was closed, so he couldn't get a parking permit. It is a private road and there were no other cars parked there, so he wasn't in anyone's way.
I appealed, showing them that the concierge office was closed and there was no way he could have got a permit to park for the hour he was there.
They rejected the appeal but reduced it to £30 as a "goodwill" gesture.
I am loathe to pay it though - any advice?
Thank you0 -

OH DEAR OH DEAR, you see Gladstones own the IPC/IAS ???
SMELL THE SCAM HERE ??
1: Ace decline your appeal
2: IAS decline your appeal
3: Gladstones start chasing you for money ?
I know what I would do to Gladstones but before that, I want to see
what my fellow members on here have to say.
This is a very serious matter for Gladstones, not for you, there is a conflict of interests here which is fraudulent,

Did they take pictures as proof of the car not showing the permit?0 -
Ahhhh!! thank you very much for that!!!
I can smell the scum oh so well lol!
Where can I find proof that Gladstone own IPC/IAS?
They have never sent me pictures showing my care not displaying the permit so I'm guessing they never took any pictures.
Thanks0 -
