Probably due to minimum alcohol pricing rather than to shaft customers.

By the way that is absolute rubbish, I ordered some of their Taste The Difference Pinot Rose which was reduced even more from £10 per bottle to £7 and they didn't back track on the price of that.

Jaydee you are quoting from somewhere else, and even your quote proves that your earlier comments were hyperbole. You really are very determined to tell others how they should feel even if there's no real basis for it. I assume you have never taken any advantage of any advice on this site ever, and this is why you feel so very righteous. You don't come across well.

My rule of thumb is: "if you discover a loophole, a benefit to you, don't advertise it" .... anything is pulled if you've found a way to get something they'd not intended.

I'm confused. I received the following email at 8.40 last night (Tuesday):
We wanted to let you know that unfortunately due to unprecedented demand the Taste The Difference Prosecco you ordered is no longer available on the promotion price of £7.50. This means you will be charged the full price of £10 minus any discount that might apply, for example buy 6 bottles of wine and save 25%.

So that you don't lose out we would still like to honour the offer, we have therefore added the price difference as an e-voucher to your account which you can use next time you shop online.

The Sainsbury's order arrived today (Wednesday) while my wife was in. I am currently away, but my order history with Sainsbury's shows the price of £7.50 and I don't have any evouchers. I guess I was lucky.
  • A few weeks ago with Jordan Cox's Sainsburys deal I got towards the end of the shop then the site crashed on me and I was unable to log back in. It does seem that Sainsburys do like to pull their deals, and it is all because of the large online shopping discount voucher. I have given up on them as a store, sick of buying clothes from there and seeing a 25% sale banner outside the store the next day.

    Hello,

The price for `Signore Giuseppe Prosecco Non Vintage 75 cl (Case of 3)' (ASIN: B01BWLRHJW) was displayed incorrectly when you placed your order 205-3123300-6805919.

Despite our best efforts, with the millions of items available on our website, pricing errors can occasionally occur.

In our Conditions of Use and Sale (see http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html/?nodeId=1040616), we state that where an item's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, cancel the order and notify you of that cancellation.

Your order has now been cancelled. If you still want to purchase this item, please place a new order which will be charged at the correct price, when we dispatch it to you.

We’re sorry for any inconvenience caused and hope to see you again soon.

Oh dear. I am very red faced. Just discovered that they print on both sides of the till receipt! Never seen that before.
So Sainsbury's have given me the full offer and first time discount, and I am happy again.
    Sorry everyone.
    Pete

I received my order yesterday, at the offer price despite receiving the email.
However the £18 first order offer was not deducted, even though it was when I ordered. So my "estimated cost" of £43 was actually charged at £61.
    Not happy!

Yesterday I too had the email changing my prosecco order but last night my order was delivered complete with the reduced prices and with the -£18 first order.

What do people expect when these ways of manipulating offers are splashed all over the internet. The clue is in the title "trick".
Perhaps MSE could direct its outrage and energies and clout to more important things.
