Shared ownership, cash buying the share - HELP NEEDED
Comments
-
I'd guess you might be looking at this from the wrong perspective.
Shared ownership is intended to be for people on low incomes who are having difficulty getting on the property ladder. The fact that you can afford to put down £100,000 in cash is obviously raising some eyebrows. The housing association are wondering why someone with so much cash lying around needs low-income housing. From their perspective, you might well be lying on your application to get access to subsidised housing. Or laundering money for a criminal syndicate. Or who knows what else.
In fact, you have an excellent reason - you have bad credit and can't get a mortgage. So tell them. They might be sympathetic. I imagine many shared ownership tenants have (or had) financial problems.0
