WhatsApp on galaxy tab 4

Hi

I'm trying to install WhatsApp on my galaxy tab 4, when I click on install I get an error message that says "you don't have any devices ".

I'm logged in via a Google mail account. If I try via play store I get the error "your device isnt compatible with this version".

Any ideas how to get WhatsApp to work on my galaxy tab 4?

Thanks

I think Whatsapp owners want you to install on phone only so that they can charge for some calls?

If you obtained an APK from a dodgy source and it had been interfered with you could be installing malware.

And that's why you need to download it from the official website: https://www.whatsapp.com/android/

You may need to go into Developer settings and allow unsupported executables to get this to work.

Download and install the .apk, give it a phone number (Whatsapp needs it) and you'll be ok. I got it installed on an Amazon Fire tablet without much problems.

cant remember where I downloaded it from, but if it installed malware, would I know straightaway? Should I uninstall it and re install it from whatsapp/android? Can I run a malware software on the galaxy tab?

    thanks
