Recording a Live Radio Broadcast?

My boyfriend will be doing commentary on hockey games in Canada this season and as it will be in the middle of the night here I was wondering how I can record it so that friends can hear it. When I click the link on the hockey clubs website it opens the broadcast in Windows Media Player. Do I need a program to record it?

you can record audio with audacity.

to save the file as an MP3, you will need the LAME MP3 encoder from here. also it is best to record in stereo, you can find out how to do that here

    You could try this

I've not used this so can't vouch for how good it is. I have some software on my Laptop that does this but I can't rememebr what it's called. If I remember I'll let you know.
It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die

This is good but if it doesn't have the radio station in its directory you'll have to find the address (sometimes you can go into properties in windows media player to find the stream address).

Has a nice scheduler and recorder built in.

Thanks for those suggestions, I'll have a play around with it later on. Fingers crossed that it's easy!

If you set up a "no sounds" scheme on your PC, then Audacity can record while you use your PC to surf MoneySavingExpert and everywhere else, at the same time as you record, with no odd Windows sounds appearing,

I've been trying to get Audacity to record for the past couple of hours now, it turned out that I already had Audacity installed on my PC as I've used it to edit ringtones in the past. It records the live streaming from media player but very faintly and it's muffled.

    Any ideas?
