Blomberg dishwasher

We went to the shop to buy a new dishwasher telling the salesman we were very disappointed with the Beko that had been a major expense to keep repairing. We ended by buying a Blomberg described as a German brand. Guess what, it seems to be a Beko in disguise. After 2 1/2 years it went wrong. Claimed repair under warranty. Technicians kept turning up with wrong component. They finally discovered the wiring to the controls had frayed. Technician arrives 2 weeks later to replace. Wrong one again so he bodged a repair and got it working. I complained to Beko but foolishly allowed them to persuade me to leave well alone and "see how it goes". 6 months later it goes wrong again. Phoned Beko who were quite rude because it was out of warranty. Now phoned retailer who is also trying to dodge the issue. Certainly will not buy from them again and also more careful to avoid Beko/Blomberg

I'm afraid it's very difficult to find who makes what nowadays. I was under the impression Blomberg was just a name put on almost any cheap appliance to be sold with fitted kitchens.Tall, dark & handsome. Well two out of three ain't bad.0

Odd how experiences differ. I'd had a nightmare with a hotpoint leaking all the time, bought a new one from Currys, which turned out to be a Hotpoint in disguise, and of course it leaked.
I bought a Leisure branded one, which turns out to be a Beko - 6 years on and it's been fine, apart from a couple of broken door springs. I'd be happy with another one but Hotpoint - never!0 -
Hi
It's all a bit of a gamble at this bottom end of the appliance market, and the consumer is rarely the winner.
Simple rule when purchasing a new dishwasher - buy a Miele - do all that you can to afford one. And if you absolutely can't then get a BSH (Bosch, Neff, Siemens) one.
