What return to expect for an investment

It's difficult to give an answer to the second question as it all depends on the level of risk. If it's too risky, I'm not interested. But perhaps have a look at the 3.30 at Chepstow to give an idea of what returns gamblers are seeking.

In response to the third question, about 2% pa would be a very good return from a bank account at present
