Ramble, I'm not as judgemental either. My OH is lovely, kind, generous, funny, a bit bonkers and my kids think he's great. It doesn't matter that he doesn't tower above me.

Just read through your diary - you have done great so far - keep it up and you'll get there!

A wee thought - for anything more expensive - e.g. the hoover you need or perfumes etc. If your parents or family or friends get you birthday/Xmas presents, maybe suggest they get you something that you really like (& need - but they don't need to know that)...?

I have arrangement with friend that we swap short lists of options we can choose from - what we need/want but haven't got round getting..that way we both know we will get what we want/need And we have agreed a rough budget of £40 per occasion. (Unless it's round birthdays, then we can open the purse strings )

Thank you so much everyone for sharing. Its so interesting to find out how people met. I love it so much. I know its shallow but height is important to me and i know I would struggle to go back on that plus i don't really like men that swear too much and both of these are kind of deal breakers. I know, I know you're all sighing! But both are massive turn offs. I don't think its difficult to respect someone enough to not use words they don't like, but have dated a few men who could not manage this. Its for next year, I think tori is right about being ready! I don't know how people date their colleagues, it must be so nerve wracking but it happens all the time.

I have tried really hard on the present front but people are so unhelpful in giving you help. I think I might insist on your list swapping idea penny stretcher, it would definitely simplify things. No family or close birthdays till november now tho. Yippee!

Very tired today. Long week, have been a bit overloaded at work and need to put some effort in to get back to normal. There were drinks today and I think my colleagues are struggling to understand why I wouldn't have gone. Just wanted to go home and watch telly. Nsd today and 7 days to pay day. Food shop tomorrow then bed. Saturday is quite open and I've got £30 left in bank account which could well go. Im not sure. One day at a time as Dolly says! xxx

The time to focus on yourself is now, sort your debt, finish your exams then when you have the free headspace you will meet someone.

You have a lot going on right now PSL.

That being said you could meet the man of your dreams tomorrow, it will happen when it happens.

Very grouchy today, I think I have been a bit of an annoying colleague all day. Very pleased its the weekend. It has been a long month and not great on the debt front.

Current position
£2144 loan. 14 Payments left at £153 each
£3598 credit card 1% payment each month 0%
£4525 credit card 1% payment each month 0%
£3080 credit card 2.5% payment 0%
£2158* credit card 18% *£500 payment on payday

I am getting there. The 18% is about to go down to £1000 in october. Time off work meaning reduced travel costs and move to buy train ticket from bank account, (black not red) and not credit card will allow this to happen.

Its 4 paydays to christmas so i have told myself that these are the times to hold back no matter what. Its not remotely easy tho. Work drinks yesterday and today and last thursday! Its ridiculous! I did not go this week and went to lidl this evening so have food stocks for the week but might do the same next friday night.

Next month is very tight. Not much room for anything but I will be busy studying for second exam and am determined. xxx

I did spend a little bit today £14 pounds lighter but home now for rest of the day and going to parents tommorow so could be low spending day.
Need to do Food plan tomorrow.
Very tired.
Early night for me.
Out of overdraft but have put some things on credit card. This will go down before christmas and then down again In the new year. Loan £1991 at end of month. The light is coming on them both. Its a very expensive month next month. Its going to take a lot of effort. 5 days to payday amd 9 till the first bills get paid. Will need a quiet weekend next week.

Hi PSL. On the gift front, other half and I have set up Am@zon wishlists, and we add stuff on there as we go along throughout the year then send it out to our families (and each other) for christmas and birthdays. His sister also has one too so it makes buying gifts a lot easier.

Well done on the NSD's, not long to go until payday now.

PS. I met my other half on match. I split up with my ex of 6 years and my friend from work told me to sign up to online dating to boost my confidence, I eventually signed up on New Years Eve when I was stuck at home with a chest infection. I then met my other half at the end of January, I honestly never expected to meet my future husband, I just signed up because my friend said it was a good way to get taken out for dinner
