  • Awww thank you very much SM. I am very boring at the moment.
finding it a bit tough particularly as everyone seems to want to do expensive things at Christmas that need to be paid for now. I definately would do better having fewer friends and staying out of pub.
Trying to encourage all the social to be after payday but it's always something that gets in the way, will see what this week brings.

Having a day for me today so no drinks or anything expensive. Just resting and eating. Next weekend planned same then payday. Really need payday to be a bit sooner but nothing to be done about that. xxx

  • Oh don't say that PSL, you can never have too many friends. Sometimes I wish I had more friends closer to me as most of them are scattered across the country :o

I'm in a similar position myself actually, I'm desperately trying to lose the weight I put on while I was with my ex-partner but 10 months later I still haven't lost any :( But I've told my friends this is why I'm cutting down on alcohol and meals out and they seem to be quite understanding. Could you use a similar tactic maybe?

PSL I like your ethics about Friday , same here in Manchester. Can't stop doing things.

Just to add thought about you yesterday when I was buying work things , I find it tiresome as trousers for my figure are so hard to find . Anyway tapered pants seem to be the answer . Plus I love all the flowery Tops with the fluted arms that are in for this season.

  • The work clothes thing is such a pain. I'm not adding to the wardrobe much at the moment. At least not this month. Trying to spend little on everything in October and will be studying quite a lot.

SM It's interesting that you put weight on IN a relationship. I thought it was the other way round. I think the single life is more likely to lead to weight gain but maybe I am wrong about this!
Good luck with the weight loss and sorry to hear the relationship didn't work out. I don't have any wisdom in this area expect that being single is a lot more relaxing (which might not necessarily be what you want).
Not to be a downer but to be 100% honest the more men i meet (and I do know quite a lot) the more I think singledom is definitely a life of luxury in comparison to being with the wrong person. It's just a lot more expensive! xxx

I'm always heavier when I'm in a relationship- meals out, cooking nice meals, chocolate and nibbles with wine over the weekend.

When I'm single I don't really bother eating proper meals in an evening. I've been with my partner for 3 years now and have just lost a stone over the summer because my weight has slowly crept on.
  • Oh Louby there is no hope for me. It sounds like I am going to be heavy In or out of a relationship!
Oh well. If I can cut down drinking up to Christmas that should help.
Low spend today and all this week actually. Bringing lunch in, work paying for Thursday out and low spend on Saturday and staying out of pub. Then payday next week so just a few more days of low- key life.

  • Oh I blame my ex - he's Italian so we would always have amazing food, have dinner quite late in the day and also he was a bit of a feeder and I would never say no :(

How's your week been PSL? Have you managed to stick to the low spend days and brining lunch in to work?
  • Ah it's been a bit tricky and I drank too much but not an outright disaster.

I have Italian friends and they eat constantly- ( but having said that I am completely British and obsessed with food).
I hope you can get to a weight that you want to be. It is so difficult to lose weight. It goes on so easily and just seems to stick. I must try harder in this area.

    Payday soon.
