RBS mortgage?

Hi,

Looking to move house shortly and I did a mortgage in principle on RBSs website I made sure all the info I put in was correct.

How close to that figure is it likely to be when I apply for a mortgage?

Any one had experience of applying for a RBS mortgage in the last year, has anyone managed to get one with RBS?

Why did you choose RBS out of all the lenders in the market?

They seem to lend more on the calculators. I thought it would be better to get someone who will lend the most due to the tight restrictions on mortgages now

On the basis that RBS advanced £23bn worth of mortgage lending in 2015, I think the answer might be 'yes'.

Lending isn't tight. Criteria is tight. As people are ill prepared for what would be regarded as more normal levels of interest rates.

Ive done 2 this year and have another 2 going through with them at the minute...I thought I had done more than that as I seem to speak to my account manager almost weekly! She must hate me.

I only want to borrow around around £35k less than what RBS mortgage in principle will lend.

I am worried i won't get a mortgage, as my credit rating isn't brilliant had some late payments and gone over my overdraft and credit card limits this year

Current account conduct has to be spotless in the last three months otherwise you risk a decline post-submission.

    For late and going overlimits??

I have been in this situation for about a year or two, I am hoping to be clear for around 6 months before I apply for the mortgage but do you think I will struggle getting a mortgage with my poor history??

You may well do, if you continue to try to manage it yourself.
