    thanks for your replies.

    we are pulling out as they issued a new draft TP1 with not much changes to the clause but also added an additional one to say that does not allow the property to be used as multi occupancy ... we do not have plans for that but in future if we want a lodger we cannot do that.


    this clause was not in the previous draft version


    i think its a strategy to make us back out and then put the property back on the market with a higher price.


    we basically fell for the buyers incentive of 1k if we take the mortgage advice and solicitor from the estate agent.


    that 1k has now gone in smoke
  • Sympathies that they've wasted some of your money for you.

    But backing out does seem to be the only thing you could do. All the more so as they were upping the ante.

    I cant believe the nerve of it just how much they thought they could dictate whats what to future owners of the house.

    But, if this is what they are like, then I expect they will get hoist with their own petard somewhere along the line.
