Hello all,
So call us mad buy myself and my DH have decided to take our 1yo DD camping (in various locations) over the summer.
We have the basics eg. Tent (plus a sleep pod for DD), sleeping bags etc etc.
What I am struggling to find is base layers and warm pyjamas for DD. I am not expecting it to be bitterly cold but we would like to have one/two sets just in case. Does anyone know where I can buy these?
Also can anyone suggest essential things to take with us??
Have any of you lovely lot taken small kids away camping? How was it? Any tips you would like to share?
TIA

The idea of camping with a 1 year old might not bother me but the "various locations" definitely would. Do you mean you're going away several times or that you'll be touring?0

sorry I should have clarified this. We are going on 3 or 4 trips over the summer as DH can't really take anytime off work so we will be doing 2 short weekends and then 1 or 2 longer weekend trips. They are all no more than about 1.5hrs away from where we live so its not like we are trekking up to the shetlands for our first trip :rotfl:I have enough money to last me the rest of my life......until I go and buy something!

Oh good, I imagined the 2 of you having to put the tent up and down every couple of days whilst looking after the 1 year old!
Weekends sound like a good idea in your situation - good luck.:)0 -
We've camped from when ours were very young. We bought a blow up bed that had edges all round from Kampa (airlock junior ) bit like a boat £10-£15, well worth price, so they weren't able to fall/slide/roll off their sleeping mat. Always take a small 3 ring paddling pool.fill with warm water and have a bath in it instead of showers. Hours of fun in water if sunny. Take a foldable step stool if using showers so child isn't sitting on dirty shower floor. Plastic poncho sheeting or a few interlocking foam mats to put on damp grass outside tent so they can play. We travel very lightly, but still take these items 10 years later.0
