Parking fine mess up.

This may be the most obscure story you have ever heard but its true and would like some advice please.

2 years ago i got a parking fine that went to court and got fined £209 , The money was taken direct from my wages over 3 months until it was paid.

Fast forward a year and i receive a letter from the court for the £209 threatening bailiff action, i contact the court and they tell me that they actually paid the money back to my company.

So i then contact my now old company and ask them about this and they agree that yes they received the money back and contacted the court to ask why ?

The court tells them it was a mistake on their behalf and can they please pay the money into my child support account.

The problem being this I DON'T HAVE A CHILD SUPPORT ACCOUNT !

This money now is as i have been confirmed floating around the child support agency's system because it is not linked to any account waiting to be claimed, my old company has to write and ask for the money back then pay it back to me then i have to then pay it back to the court.

Of course my now old company will not do this and the court says i am still liable for the debt does anyone know if this is correct or what i should do please ?

thank you.

presumably your wage slips from the time show this deduction ?

the argument is between the court service/child support and your old employer.

  • Hi

yes i have all the detailed wage slips but apparently not, the court say i am still liable for the debt and are threatening me with the bailiffs to recover the money. Even though it is their mess up.

request a magistrate to view the case or contact bailiffs online who for a very small fee (£10 I think) will assist and sort this out for you
