    Email is fine:

    enforcement@parkingeye.co.uk

They do respond and that is the section whcih deal with court threats & claims. I've seen LBC cases off for colleagues by emailing that address.

    But...

I don't have the letter with me at the moment but I remember that it is on behalf of Civil Enforcement LTD

Any reason why CEL have subbed things out to ParkingLie? Or have I missed something?
My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016). :(

For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com

Ooops...good spot HO87, that'll teach me to skim-read after work, posting while trying to ignore the cat who wanted feeding.

OK so CEL's email is dead easy to find too, the OP only needs to do a Google image search for a CEL NTK posted on pepipoo.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

What a load of crap. Just write (not email) to their registered address pointing out that you are now resident in Palookaville or wherever it is and inviting them to pursue you there. They cannot and will not do so.

email is not fine, not at all. When it comes to legal matters, you need a paper trail. The law may recognise email these days, sort of, but it's all too easy for the other party to deny receipt. Proof of sending is absolutely NOT proof of receipt when it comes to email.

If they are stupid enough to issue a court claim at your UK address (and you get it forwarded to you) you simply write to the court pointing out that you are out of jurisdiction. Owning property in the UK absolutely does NOT mean you are subject to the UK courts. You are not a UK resident therefore they have massive (and costly) bars to jump to sue you. Not going to happen.

Of course, if you are not expecting to return within 6 years you could just ignore the whole thing. Let them waste their time and money on it. That "charge over your property" crap is just that: crap.

Thanks to everyone who responded you have been really helpful. I am sending them a letter from overseas and feel a lot less worried about the whole thing now.

I'd email a copy as well.

Yeah, no harm in belt-and-braces especially since it'll probably take a while for a letter from overseas to arrive.
  • I am in a similar situation, living abroad. If I ignore these letters I am receiving from the UK demanding me to pay or they pass it to their litigation department. Is there a time period that this legally stops and you don't owe the money anymore?
