every time i try to open an installed app (photo etc) on my hp envy windows 10 laptop i get the message 'this app can't open'.
if i try to go to the windows app store when i click on it's icon in the task bar nothing happens. no message and no window opens?
i am the only person registered and using this laptop so can anyone suggest how i can open (or indeed install) any windows apps?
many thanks.

I've read that there was an issue (bug) in one of the earlier releases of Windows 10. The workaround was to use the search bar to find and launch these apps and pin them to your taskbar for quick access.... thanks for reply but i'm afraid the result is the same. the app will not open at all, neither will any other windows store apps.
very annoying this. it is a fairly new (2 months old) laptop that came pre installed with windows 10 so no upgrade from 8 or anything like that.0 -
Try a Windows 10 refresh - selecting KEEP MY FILES option. Backup any important data first.

Hmmm, very annoying. The only other suggestion I can come with at the moment is to try creating a new User Account in case the existing one has become corrupted.... Click: Start >> Settings >> Update & Recovery >> Recovery >> Advanced Startup
PC Will Boot into repair mode, then click "Refresh Your PC"
This should fix any issues with Windows 10 without you loosing any files.0 -

i will try this when i get home. i'm just concerned that i don't mess up any files and programs on my pc as although it's annoying i cannot access any apps, i'm not sure how many (if any) i would actually need to use?0
