Its a bit old fashioned now coing isnt it?0

I suppose its personal taste but the first thing i will be doing in my new house is pulling it downNever, under any circumstances, take a sleeping pill and a laxative on the same night.0

Good taste never dates, so a simple plaster cove is unlikely to ever look wrong, if it is put up well.
From a practical POV it also hides the cracks that frequently form over time at the edge of ceilings.0 -

This is so, but fashion goes full circle. In a few years time Phi, Kirsty and all the celebs will be on TV creating another "must have" trend... called coving.
Coving going out of fashion has a lot to do with builders driving down their costs and, similarly, increasing their profits. Countless people take their home decor tips from builders show homes.0 -

Spot on, and it is useful for preventing cold bridging (and the associated mould growth) that can occur at ceiling level.0 -
If the walls and ceiling are perfect and you can get it up with no gaps at all then you might get away without any filling and decorating.
We like our ceilings white and like to have the coveing the same shade of white.
Cutting in on the wall lip is so much easier than a wall ceiling join.0 -
Have you considered wooden coving? I got ours from victorian emporium who do loads of different profiles. The smaller coving I found quite reasonably priced0

While i do like wood & certain shades/types (light oak for example), i don't think i'd be going for wooden coving to be honest.
Anyway, i get a little more technical with the cutting in today & used that frog tape. Probably should've done it from the get go. On the longer walls i had been too cautious with the cutting in & stopped off the ceiling. On the smaller angled walls my cutting in freehand was fairly bob on.
I'm a very picky person so i will never be fully satisfied until something is 100% perfect. 99% is not good enough for me. BUT, my wife is now happy with it whereas when i went total freehand neither of us were, so if she's happy0 -
I didn't mean leaving it unpainted. I painted mine white0
