Uber at Gatwick?

Does anyone know if Uber serve the Gatwick Airport area? We'd like to use them for a 5 minute ride to/from the airport, but have no idea if they service that area. The return flight arrives at 01:15 in the morning so we're planning ahead!

I'm fairly sure Uber will be able to tell you. I noticed this report (and various similar ones):

They do but in my experience the service is dire.

It would seem only a few drivers operate around the airport and seem to be out of area drivers, perhaps who have dropped off a ride and looking for a new fare.

When I tried to used them I was watching two cars circling the North Terminal on their app. I was at just outside the South Terminal when I booked. Almost immediately the driver called me and asked that I come over to the North Terminal. I politely explained that this was not convienent as I had luggage. It also seemed strange that having ordered a taxi that I was expected to take a detour and a long walk and monorail to pick up my taxi ride? I then watched the Uber driver via the app drive from the North Terminal, drive south down the A23, under the South Terminal and past my location. I cancelled the Uber after 20 minutes and used a local firm. Never used Uber again.
