Damaged Luggage

I've put a claim in with Etihad as that's when both the handle & zip expander was broken on one case, & the other case had the zip expander broken. Still waiting to hear.
Other option is claiming from travel insurance, but I'd have to pay the first £50 myself.
However, Mr Duke seems to think that the zips must be faulty for them to have both broken, & thinks that I should be claiming from Domo where I bought the cases from. It does state on the 10 year guarantee that they accept no responsibility for airline damage.
What's everyone think?

What kind of guarantee is that?
If you use the case for its intended use you are not covered but how would you damage it at home if it sits on the top of the wardrobe for 11 months of the year?
This has only ever happened to me once - with Virgin when we arrived in Orlando - they gave us money/voucher to buy new case straight away.0 -
Warranty can have whatever terms the giver wants!
Insurer probably will want you to try etihad anyway, so maybe see how far you get and if insurer will pay the balance?0 -

Paddy, I contacted Etihad myself as I thought that they were to blame. I did actually see the case wagon or whatever it's called take a bend fast, the luggage shot off & he threw it on again. I was going to video it, but never bothered.0
