What????, just like post #14, get real chap, and please don't say all DIY guys are not the equal of the average trade, because I can tell you, many are, :mad::mad:

I said don't hack out the brickwork, a chase into the plaster and maybe a groove is perfectly acceptable, this is not a trade V DIY thread, unless you say so.

Plumbers have been chasing baths into walls for years, quite a few baths out there where on 1675mm in length so its common to have to do it

Cutting a bath down is just nonsense , there are far better options which have been said

Not really

I like many other trades come on here to give good honest advice , we get ridiculed for stating how it should be done , by someone who's googled it and thinks they know best ...

We've pointed out how it should be done yet they still think cutting 25mm of a bath is better that getting the correct bath or doing a simple chase in the wall . This poster thinks that masking tape will stop the enamel pinging when it's touched with a angle grinder ,no toothed saw blade would touch a steel enamel bath .They have no idea

The strength in the bath is on the lip, think of your car wing . A flat panel deforms easily but you if create a fold the strength multiplies ten fold
