Vinyl Flooring - Kitchen

Hello, need some advice on what the best thing to do is
I have ordered a Wickes kitchen, which a joiner will be fitting. The current kitchen has been ripped out, walls plastered and electrics all ready
Decided to go for vinyl flooring, something like this
http://www.flooringsuperstore.com/acadian-carbon-tiles.html
2 questions
1) currently it is bare floorboards, does something need to be laid before laying the vinyl (like an underlay) or can this go straight onto the floorboard?
2) is it okay to lay the vinyl for the full floor and then fit the kitchen units on top? Also have freestanding kitchen appliances? Cost isn't a factor because I would have to buy 4m*2.25m
Thanks

You will need to overboard it with either hardboard or 6mm plywood to receive the vinyl.
Don't fit it until after the kitchen is in as vinyl doesn't suffer fools gladly! It could easily be ripped by the fitters as there will be lots of things being moved, pulled and pushed across the floor!Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0 -
Thanks, that makes sense
I take it the plyboard needs to cover the entire kitchen surface? The units can go on top and then vinyl fitted around the kitchen units?0 -
No you can overboard it once the kitchen is in. Vinyl fitters will do t as part of the vinyl install.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

Maybe something like this -

I remember, in a previous kitchen when I was having tile effect laminate strips down, they went on top of underlay strips.
Whereas, when I was having my current kitchen floor done with Karn Dean tiles - a rubberised water-proof membrane was put down first.I used to work for Tesco - now retired - speciality Clubcard0
