Kos?

I've seen a really cheap holiday advertised for Kos, but have never been there, and wondered if anyone has any observations?
I'm in my fifties and single, not particularly into the "clubbing scene" (also not a heavy drinker), preferring sightseeing, history and relaxing.
Any thoughts?

Kos is a beautiful island Bob .
The holidays are cheap at the moment because of all the publicity regarding the migrants last year , the situation appears to be resolved now but let me assure you that we were there last year at the height of all the coverage and it was fine.
We have stayed in Kefalos and Tigaki , both are lovely resorts , very laid back with lovely beaches and nice tavernas and quiet bars.
Plenty to see and do with lots of ancient historical sights . Kos town is absolutely beautiful as is the entire island.
We have also gone on boat trips to Nisyros - a small island where you can visit an amazing volcanic crater and also a three island boat trip that included Kalymnos which was beautiful.
We've already booked Crete for this year or I'd be snapping up one of those deals !0 -
Kos is a small island but it has a bit of everything, lovely beaches, historical sites, very relaxing and beautiful.0

Kos Town is the place for yer 'istory. From the town going south is very bicycle friendly with wide off-road tracks (in the not on the road sense, not the mountain biking sense). Kefalos at the opposite end of the island to Kos Town is beach holiday territory as is Tigaki. Lambi, just north of Kos Town is 'brits abroad', Kardamena on the south coast is 'lively' in an 18-30 kinda way, although maybe ok outside peak season (Faliraki on Rhodes was very pleasant/virtually closed when we went one April a few years back).0

Agree with the foregoing but would add
that Kardamena is a bit 'all day breakfast' and footie playing in the bars . Kos town can be very busy at the height of the season but has fantastic castle, market area, and historical sites scattered around the town. The Askleipion where Hypocrites had the first 'hospital' is very peaceful, the South of the island has some monasteries to visit, you can get around the island cheaply by bus to the main centres but a hire car allows excursions to more out of the way places or at times to suit yourself0
