Keeping proof of postage

Hope someone can very quickly just answer this. Is it 180 days now that I need to keep proof of postage for selling on ebay or have I got that figure from somewhere else? Doing the usual bank holiday weekend sort through and want to get rid of whatever I don't need to keep.

You can open a Paypal claim up to 180 days so proof of postage needs to be kept at least that long.
Personally, I put all proof postage together and keep them somewhere safe so I still have ones that are years old lol. But at least if needed I'll have it.0 -
Proof of postage won't win you a case, as such, you will still have to refund unless you can proved actual delivery, but can be used to claim compo from RM for a lost item (not sure what the time limit is tho).
If you're talking about a tracking number that proves delivery, then yes this can be used to prove delivery in an eBay or Paypal case.0 -

Proof of postage will protect you from chargebacks when someone tries to claim they didnt authorise the purchase.0 -

I've been a business seller for 3 years and have only had 1, ever.
I have more chargebacks for unauthorised use than anything else. What's more they come with a £14 fee, making a proof of posting a valuable freebie.
Chargebacks can be made for 6 years, even longer if the cardholder can convince the card company there may be fraud involved.
I keep all of ours with our accounts.0 -

I have very few cases opened against me but of those a fairly high percentage are 'unauthorised' claims and I have never lost one yet.
